Flood Warning
Issued by the National Weather Service at 2:05 PM PST on November 20, 2009


The Flood Warning continues for
the Satsop river near Satsop
* until late tonight.
* At 1:15 PM Friday the stage was 34.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 34.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river crested at 35.6 feet at 7 am Friday and will
continue to fall to below flood stage this evening.
* Impact... at 34.0 feet... the Satsop river will flood low pasture
lands and some roads along the river.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive cars... vans... or trucks through flooded areas... this is
the cause of most flood related deaths in Washington. Be alert for
rapid changes and monitor developments by listening to NOAA Weather
Radio or other local media.



205 PM PST Fri Nov 20 2009

... Flood Warning extended until Saturday evening...

The Flood Warning continues for
the Skokomish River near Potlatch
* until Saturday evening.
* At 1:45 PM Friday the stage was 17.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river crested at 17.1 feet at 8 am Friday and will
continue to fall to below flood stage late Saturday morning.
* There will be a planned release of 3000 cfs from Cushman dam #2
into the North Fork Skokomish River on Saturday. This release will
keep the Skokomish River running high. The forecast calls for the
river to remain just below flood stage Saturday night and Sunday.
* Impact... at 16.5 feet... the Skokomish River will cause widespread
flooding of pasture lands... with water flowing quickly over east
bourgault Road and Skokomish Valley Road.

Areal Flood Watch
Issued by the National Weather Service at 2:16 PM PST on November 20, 2009


... Flood Watch now in effect through Sunday afternoon...

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of western Washington... including the following
County... Grays Harbor.

* Through Sunday afternoon

* the lower reaches of the Chehalis river in Grays Harbor County
which ... has been within a foot of flood stage for the last day
and a half... will remain near that level on Saturday. More rain
is forecast on Saturday night... so the lower Chehalis could
remain high on Sunday as well. At any time over the next two
days the lower Chehalis could rise to flood stage. Any flooding
on the lower reaches of the Chehalis... if it does occur... will
be minor.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding but
flooding is not imminent or occurring. Monitor the latest
forecasts from the National Weather Service and be ready to act
quickly if flooding is observed or a warning is issued.
